Where is John R. Grayson?

John R. Grayson, class of 1947, is living his retirement years in Inverness, IL. In his working years he founded Rainsoft Water Conditioning Company in 1953. Rainsoft is a leader in the treatment of home and commercial water systems.

After graduation, John took his engineering degree to California. After a short stay he decided he could do just as well working for himself. He came back to the Midwest and founded Rainsoft Inc. in Chicago. After selling the company to his employees, Rainsoft became an international company. It is now a division of Aquion Water Treatment Products, with more than 300 dealers in the United States and 24 countries. Over the years Rainsoft has earned more than 75 US and international patents.

John's success in the business world has led to many awards and much recognition over the years. In 2003 the Water Quality Association (WQA) presented Brother Grayson with the WQA's Ray E. Cross Award, recognizing pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment made in the water treatment industry.

John has been very generous to Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He has commited finacially to Indiana Alpha helping the fraternity with many projects. On the national level he is a member of the Board of Governors, which consists of the most loyal donors to our Annual Fund. At Indiana Alpha's 100th Anniversary, John was awarded a Career Achivement Award for his success with Rainsoft and his generosity to Indiana Alpha. John was also awarded the Nine of Hearts Award at the Indiana Alpha 90th Anniversary. Thank you John for all that you have acheved and done for Indiana Alpha.
